The Honey Moan EP was released after nearly 2 years of straight touring for Entrance, where he shared the stage with everyone from Cat Power to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Honey Moan could very well have been another album, as Blakeslee was never short on songs or inspiration. The EP blends folk and blues so well, far from being artless yet not entirely convinced of itself being an original sound.
