TS-040 / Entrance The Kingdom of Heaven Must Be Taken

Entrance’s debut full length, The Kingdom of Heaven Must Be Taken By Storm was recorded and mixed by Chris Coady (Diskette, Convocation Of?) at Head Gear Studios in Brooklyn, NY. Recorded in several sessions over the month of November 2002, the record has a very intimate feel and a cavernous sound, something one would not expect from a solo performer. The addition of minimal percussion, keyboards, organs and piano provide an additional element to Entrance songs not found at a live show of this era.

Anecdotes

We couldn’t believe that Guy Blakeslee could go from the punk rock life (Convocation Of…) to a folsky/bluesy/psychedelic one band called Entrance. There are certain guys that you just know are ultra-talented and you have to have complete blind faith in them that they know what they are doing. There were a handful of guys like that on the Tiger Style roster like Jimmy Lavalle, Marc Bianchi and Guy Blakeslee.
