This second album from k., or Karla Schickele of Ida & Beekeeper, fulfills and surpasses the promise of her debut, New Problems. On Goldfish, k. was now a full-fledged band, with a new line-up that added guitars, drums, and overall power to Schickele’s signature songwriting and unbeatable alto voice. The record runs a range from melancholy piano ballads to full-on home-style rockers, which captured the bands musical exploration at the time.
