TS-019 / Convocation Of Pyramid Technology
Recorded entirely in their own “Supreme Imperial” Studios (named by the Rastas who used to live there) on a 2-inch/24 track recorder by Chris Coady, the band was able to capture the energy of their live performances while also adding additional instrumentation (keyboards) and guest vocal appearances. Although much of the material was written prior to the recording process, the trio used the raw energy of the recording sessions to improvise and expand upon previously conceived musical ideas. The result of all of this is an amalgamation of various punk and hardcore styles mixed with unconscious nods to hip hop (tracks such as Recognize and the expanded drum sounds throughout the record) and heavy psychedelic rock rock.
These guys rocked super hard and were all superb musicians. We were super bummed when they broke up but perhaps a bit more bummed about the fact that Tonie Joy sold all the equipment we bought him after the band disbanded and then moved to Texas…what the…?????
