TS-012 / Ida The Braille Night
When Ida released Will You Find Me to overwhelming critical praise in the summer of 2000, word was already out about The Braille Night. Ida had recorded enough material for two full length albums while signed to Capitol records, and the second album The Braille Night was a few mixes away from completion. Following 6 months of touring in support of Will You Find Me, Ida stepped out of their van and back into the studio to put the finishing touches on what is now their fifth full-length, The Braille Night. Most of the songs on The Braille Night were recorded during the Will You Find Me sessions. Incorporating some of the sonic and improvisational elements of their recent tours, but always placing experimentation in the service of the songs, the sound of this record is darker and looser than previous Ida releases. Haunting, minimalist, and breathtakingly beautiful, The Braille Night captures Ida in its most personal light. The CD was co-released with Last Affair Records and the LP was a co-release between Last Affair Records and Planaria Recordings.
